Studio Strenger / Gruppe C - Le Mans 1994 official Porsche factory poster by Studio Strenger - Porsche

Official first and only edition Porsche factory poster for the 1994 Le Mans victory. Design by the famous Studio Strenger, well-known for their work for the factory over many years. The 1994 Le Mans 24H race was dominated by the Dauer Porsche 962. It finished on P1 and 2. Winners were Baldi/ Dalmas/ Haywood. Runners-up were Stück/ Sullivan/ Boutsen. The GT2 category was also dominated by Porsche, with a clean sweep of the podium by the 911 Carrera RSRs. The Porsche 956 and its successor, the 962, including the later Dauer developed car, were hugely successful racing cars in long distance racing all over the world, most notably on Le Mans, Spa-Francorchamps and the Nürburgring and Stateside at Sebring and Daytona. They successfully fought off competition in Group C from the likes of Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Toyota, Mazda and Mercedes. Having this poster on the wall of your living room, man cave or garage will provide you with a great talking point: The Dauer 962 may look every bit a racing car, but in fact it was a road legal automobile, which was a requirement under the then valid GT1 regulations for the top class at Le Mans. The car had two leather seats and a boot. This poster is included in the standard work “Porsche - Die Rennplakate” by Lewandowski on page 148. Just to be very clear given what I see announced on Catawiki as well. This is the real deal. No ‘sanctioned replica’ posters or “art inspired by ..”. Also no sadness like the “you know you are not the first, but do you really care?”, “nothing handles curves better”, “it’s named 911 but it feels like 69 all the way” inspired series. No. This is an original factory issued poster by Studio Strenger. They were issued to dealerships shortly after racing successes were achieved or racing calendars issued. I acquired them at auctions in Germany in the 90s. These are highly collectible and are actually actively collected by Porsche connoisseurs around the globe. Looking from a value perspective, these original period productions are the only ones that have further value enhancement potential. Please collect with heart and brains and invest wisely! Porsche official parts number: WWM 362 310 The poster is in wonderful condition, especially given its age of 30 years. Colours are beautiful and deep, The right lower side shows minor wear as often with these posters, easily falling away in framing. Other corners are near perfect. See images. If you have this poster professionally framed, you will have the most beautiful investment grade home or garage decoration. The poster is delivered in a sturdy large diameter cardboard tube, while the poster itself is wrapped in sheet plastic before it goes into the tube. Shipment of course always with track & trace.
