Magnificent Art Deco porcelain figurine of a rare dreamlike “Turquoise Butterfly”, created by the famous German artist Otto Koch for Rosenthal Selb Art Department, in excellent condition. It depicts a multicolor turquoise butterfly with large spread wings, hand painted in great choice of colors as turquoise, mint green, electric blue and lime, resting on green leaves, spectacular glazed. Turquoise butterfly symbolizes good luck, positive change, joy, hope, spiritual growth and transformation, often representing the exciting process of change and rebirth. Rare collectors item, by one of the most appreciated and desirable artist: Otto Koch (1901 - 1974). Starting 1920 he became head of the newly founded Rosenthal Art Department at the Bahnhof-Selb plant (Ploessberg). He worked for Rosenthal from 1920 to 1966. It is in excellent more to pristine condition, beautifully sculpted and glazed, hand painted in great choice of colors, marked on the back of the base with Rosenthal mark of the period, impressed numbered #96, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
