See less Wine information Château informations Domaine Jean Grivot The Jean Grivot estate is a family estate established in Vosne-Romanée in Burgundy for more than two centuries. It was at the end of the 18th century that Joseph Grivot decided to sell the vines he cultivated in the Jura to come and settle in Burgundy. His son Gaston, acquired a large plot of the famous Grand Cru Clos Vougeot in 1919, which increased the notoriety of the estate. You can still admire the elaborate gate that blocks the entrance, as you walk along the vineyards via the national 74 road. In 1984, his son Jean increased this already very well endowed estate with the acquisition of a plot of Richebourg. Etienne Grivot, son of Jean, took over the reins in 1987. He became the fifth generation of the Grivot estate with his children who have worked alongside him since 2010. Together they operate a 15 hectare vineyard in Vosne-Romanée extending from Nuits- St-Georges in Chambolle-Musigny. The harvest is 100% manual, and the wines are aged in oak barrels for about 15 to 20 months before being bottled at the estate.
