Objetos náuticos (8) - vidrio soplado a mano- Conjunto raro con 2 cilindros

A charming mixed set of 8 authentic Japanese hand-blown glass fishing floats, collected in northern Japan. The lot includes two rare cylinder-type floats (rolling-pin style) and five spherical floats in various colours. These floats were traditionally used by Japanese fishermen from the early to mid-20th century, particularly in the northern coastal regions such as Hokkaido and Tohoku. Japan was one of the world’s earliest adopters of glass floats: production began in the early 1900s, replacing wooden and cork floats that were less durable and less buoyant. By the 1930s–1960s, Japanese hand-blown floats had become widely used not only domestically but also across the Pacific, and many were exported or carried abroad through fishing networks. Each float was individually mouth-blown, resulting in natural bubbles, tool marks, swirling textures, and slight deformation—features that distinguish genuine working floats from modern reproductions. Cylinder-type floats, included here, were typically used for longline or net stabilization and are today much rarer than common spherical examples. Details Quantity: 8 pieces Types: 2 cylinders, 6 spheres Colours: aqua, green, deep green, light amber, blue-green Sizes Spheres: approx. 5.5–9.3 cm diameter Cylinders: approx. 12.5 cm and 15.2 cm length Condition Vintage condition with natural bubbles, scratches, tool marks, weathering, and minor wear from sea use. These authentic signs of age reflect their working history and contribute to their unique charm. Shipping Carefully packed for international delivery. Tracking number provided.
