Panoramic view of snowy Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, was excuted in the early 20th century by listed Slovakian-Hungarian landscape and cityscape painter Bela (Vojtech) Marx (1885 - 1963). Vojtech (Bela) Marx was a painter and restorer. Born 23.08.1885 in Bratislava, died 1963 in Vienna. Pupil of Prof. Eierer at the higher secondary school in Bratislava. After high school he trained theatrical painting by G. Wintersteiner in Bratislava, then in Vienna by Professor Streblow, then the school for drawing in Budapest (Prof. Zemplényi). He studied art history in Vienna and restoration by prof. Schaffer. For two years he worked as a restorer in Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg, in Bohemia and Moravia. 1919-1945 he worked in Bratislava, then until his death in Vienna. A study trip to Italy and Egypt. He painted landscape, architecture and old corners of Bratislava. The collections of the City Gallery of Bratislava is its 46 oil paintings, documenting the architecture of old Bratislava.
