Iconic Art Deco vase with overlapping scallop shells in high relief. Clear press-moulded glass with satin frosting and soft green stain that pools in the recesses and amplifies the pattern’s rhythm. Molded signature R. LALIQUE to the underside. Model designed in 1920 and documented in Marcilhac, no. 932. “Coquilles” is one of Lalique’s most successful early 1920s designs, created as the firm moved from Art Nouveau naturalism to the crisp geometry of Art Deco.
