Jarrón rojo Shino - Elegante recipiente tradicional para flores - Cerámica - 玉置保夫 Tamaoki Yasuo (1941-) - Japón - 1900-2000

Item Description This is an elegant red Shino vase (花入 Hanaire) by renowned ceramic artist Tamaoki Yasuo 玉置保夫 (1941-). The piece showcases his exceptional mastery of the Aka-Shino (Red Shino) technique, one of the most challenging Mino ware styles dating back to the Momoyama period. The vase displays the characteristic features of Tamaoki's Aka-Shino work: a rich reddish hue emerging through a feldspathic glaze with the distinctive pitted surface texture unique to this technique. The form is classical yet refined, with harmonious proportions ideal for ikebana flower arrangement or as a decorative art object. This piece comes with its original signed wooden box (共箱 tomobako), bearing the artist's pottery seal (陶印), confirming its authenticity and provenance. The tall, elegant silhouette demonstrates Tamaoki's ability to honor traditional Mino ceramic techniques while infusing them with a contemporary aesthetic sensibility. Tamaoki Yasuo, recognized as a Holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property of Gifu Prefecture for his Oribe ware, is the fourth-generation master of Tamayama Kiln. His works have received numerous prestigious awards and are highly regarded in the tea ceremony world, representing the pinnacle of modern Mino ceramic artistry. Size Height: 35 cm Width: 16.5 cm Depth: 16.5 cm Weight 3,240 g / 3.24 kg Condition The vase is in good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear including minor surface scratches and slight soiling. The wooden storage box shows signs of previous restoration.
