Judaica (objeto ceremonial judío) - .925 plata - 1900-1910 - Escudo para la Torah (Tass)
This sterling silver Torah Shield Lions Eagles was handcrafted by K. Paston in New York in typical German style, for a private order from the family of Rabii Nachman Rosenblat, for their deceased father. The shield is dedicated on its body in Hebrew, entirely engraved with zigzag decorations associated with numerous reliefs. On the body is a small window with 10 commandments and inside 2 Yom Kippur and Passover plaques. Above there is an Aron Kodesh which can be opened and see inside a small silver Torah book. On each side pose pillars and small bells (one is missing). On top, a large Torah crown and a pair of fierce guardian lions on either side. You can see a similar shield in the book Crowning Glory Silver Torah Ornaments of the Jewish Museum of New York page 170 No. 224 F 1528.
