Bamileke Pipe - Figura - Camerún

Beautiful in size quality and antiquity is this Bamileke pipe with terracotta cooker. The pipe has fortunately come down to us accompanied by its pierced stick made from a lumpy branch of hardwood with a spirally twisted copper rod tip to symbolise the economic wealth of the owner.
The quality of the plastic carving of the terracotta is remarkable, as it shows some cracks due to age and use.
