Las copas de madera del grupo étnico Kuba, originario de África central (actualmente la República Democrática del Congo), son mucho más que simples contenedores utilitarios: representan una profunda expresión cultural, artística y simbólica. Talladas a mano por artesanos hábiles, estas copas suelen estar hechas con maderas locales resistentes y se caracterizan por sus formas elegantes y proporciones equilibradas.
Una de las características más distintivas de las copas Kuba es la presencia de figuras humanas o geométricas esculpidas en relieve, que a menudo sirven como soporte de la copa. Estas figuras no son decorativas al azar: simbolizan a los antepasados, a los líderes o a los ideales de estatus, fertilidad y protección.
