Descripción del vendedor
Beautiful natural pair of fossil ammonites of the genus Amaltheus from the famous Jurassic Coast locality of Eype, United Kingdom.
Dating from the Lower Jurassic period (Pliensbachian stage), approximately 185–190 million years old, these superb ammonites are preserved together on their original natural matrix, creating an elegant and highly decorative vertical composition.
The specimens display excellent ribbing, fine natural preservation, and attractive earthy tones characteristic of classic Dorset fossils.
Their aesthetic arrangement on matrix gives the piece exceptional visual balance and strong display presence, further enhanced by the custom presentation stand.
The ammonites underwent a professional historical-style restoration typical of the early 1990s, consistent with traditional preparation methods used during that period.
The restoration is estimated at approximately 15% and has been carefully integrated while maintaining the overall authenticity and visual harmony of the specimen.
Carefully prepared to preserve their authentic morphology and natural appearance, this is a refined collector’s piece ideal for display in a fossil collection, cabinet of curiosities, or interior exhibition.
