"Mating Behavior" is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Tokumitsu Iwago (1915-2007). Tokumitsu Iwago, who worked as a member of the photography department of the Dalian Daily Newspaper in Manchuria during and after World War II, became a freelance photographer in 1961, specializing mainly in wildlife photography. In this work, Tokumitsu Iwago captures the life of mammals, reptiles, and a variety of other creatures. The natural appearance of various animals engaged in life-giving activities in the great outdoors offers a glimpse of their instincts as life. On other pages, you can smile at the loveliness of the animals, and on the pages showing births, you can be moved by the strength of the creatures. As a side note, his son, wildlife photographer Mitsuaki Iwago, participated as an assistant editor and later said, “The photo of the rhinoceros mating still lingers in my memory."
