Lovely example of this Ltd Monaco. Released in 2005 as a limited edition of 4000 pieces, the watch pays tribute to the eternal “King of Cool”, Steve McQueen – the original Monaco’s quintessential ambassador. With its avant-garde square design and an irreverent white dial (a rarity at the time), it evokes the stylistic innovations of the mid-20th century.
The watch’s original colour scheme is reminiscent of Steve McQueen’s legendary driving suit in the 1971 movie Le Mans. This first edition inspired all the Gulf-branded Monacos of the series, each with a unique take on the Gulf theme. Gulf’s longstanding partnerships with motoracing giants makes them the perfect collaborator for our special edition TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf designs.
This is no 1901 of 4000 and has an aftermarket, high quality custom leather strap in blue with red stitching and lining.
It comes with either an aftermarket box that complements the watch in style and quality OR what I believe is the original in a very tatty state
