Fine Wajima-nuri Lacquer Panel
- "Two Birds on Bamboo" - Masterful Gold Chinkin Art - Signed "Yoshie" (美江 / 芳江)
Description: This is a beautiful, high-quality vintage Wajima-nuri lacquer art panel, showcasing the absolute pinnacle of traditional Japanese lacquer craftsmanship.
- Signature & Artistry - On the lower right, it is elegantly hand-engraved "Yoshie" (美江 o r 芳江) in a fluent cursive style.
As visible in the stunning close-up photographs, the exceptional sharpness and fluidity of the engraving clearly prove it to be the work of a high-class artisan.
- Design & Symbolism - The artwork features an incredibly delicate and charming composition of a pair of small birds resting closely together on elegant bamboo branches.
The fine details of the birds' plumage are achieved through tens of thousands of microscopic hand-carvings filled with genuine gold powder (Chinkin technique), making the feathers look remarkably soft and lifelike.
The bamboo leaves are beautifully accented with rare green pigment ("Iro-Chinkin" colored engraving), creating a sophisticated contrast against the deep black lacquer surface. In Japan, bamboo represents strength, flexibility, and prosperity, while a pair of birds symbolizes a happy relationship, making this a highly auspicious showpiece.
- Documentation & Authentication - The back of the frame retains the official gold sticker certifying it as authentic "Traditional Craft Wajima-nuri" (伝統工芸 輪島塗), along with the original Japanese commentary paper explaining that it was crafted by a prominent artist associated with prestigious exhibitions like the Nitten (Japan Fine Arts Exhibition).
- Condition - The main lacquer panel is in pristine, absolute excellent condition with an incredible mirror-like high gloss and no visible wear to the artwork.
The elegant wooden frame with a vivid red velvet matting is solid and in great condition, ready to hang with a hanging cord. Technique: Fine Gold & Colored Chinkin (色沈金), High Gloss Black Lacquer Signature: Signed "Yoshie" (美江 / 芳江) Origin: Wajima, Japan (輪島塗) Period: Late Shōwa period (ca. 1970s-1980s)
