Descripción del vendedor
Heuer-Leonidas - Mechanical Stopwatch - Cal. 7700 - 7 Jewels - 53 mm - 1960s/70s
Heuer-Leonidas SA mechanical stopwatch from the late 1960s / 1970s, powered by the signed Heuer caliber 7700 manual-wind movement with 7 jewels.
A genuine piece from Heuer's long history as a manufacturer of professional timing instruments, produced during the Heuer-Leonidas period and carrying both the Heuer signature on the dial and movement and the Heuer-Leonidas SA marking inside the caseback.
The stopwatch features a large white timing dial with black numerals, contrasting red fractional-second markings and a distinctive green sector scale. A blued central timing hand provides excellent contrast against the white dial, while the black outer bezel gives the instrument the functional appearance associated with professional Heuer timing equipment of the period.
The movement is particularly attractive from a collector's perspective. It is clearly signed:
HEUER
7700
SEVEN 7 JEWELS
UNADJUSTED
SWISS
The inside of the caseback is additionally marked:
HEUER-LEONIDAS SA
SWISS
134579
Brand: Heuer
Manufacturer marking: Heuer-Leonidas SA
Type: Mechanical handheld stopwatch
Movement: Manual wind
Caliber: Heuer 7700

Movement marking: Heuer 7700 / Seven 7 Jewels / Unadjusted / Swiss
Case: Chrome-plated metal with black bezel
Diameter: Approximately 53 mm excluding crown and pusher
Dial: White with black numerals, red fractional scale and green sector
Hand: Blued central timing hand
Scale: 60-second outer scale with fine fractional divisions
Operation: Crown-wound mechanical stopwatch with side pusher
Caseback serial number: 134579
Caseback marking: Heuer-Leonidas SA, Swiss
Period: Approximately late 1960s–1970s
Made in Switzerland
Condition
The stopwatch is in good vintage condition and remains fully functional.
The white dial is well preserved for its age, with clear printing and strong colour contrast. The Heuer shield logo remains crisp and the unusual green sector retains good colour. There are some minor age-related marks and very small imperfections visible under close inspection, as can be seen in the high-resolution photographs.
The crystal shows light surface marks consistent with age and use.
The case shows normal signs of wear. There is visible loss to the black finish around parts of the bezel and caseback edge, together with small scratches and marks to the metal surfaces. These signs are consistent with an instrument that was designed to be handled and used rather than worn as jewellery.
The movement is visually clean and clearly signed Heuer 7700. It winds correctly and the stopwatch mechanism has been tested. The timing hand starts, stops and resets correctly using the pusher.
The inner caseback is correctly signed Heuer-Leonidas SA, Swiss, and carries serial number 134579.
An interesting and highly characteristic piece of Heuer's pre-TAG instrument-making history, combining a signed mechanical caliber, Heuer-Leonidas case markings and an unusually attractive professional timing dial.
Stopwatch only. No original box or papers.
Service history is unknown.
The stopwatch will be carefully packed and shipped fully insured with tracking.
