Funsei Glaze Sake Cup (Guinomi) by Takushi Haraguchi — With Original Tomobako Box and Tomonuno Cloth
A refined sake cup by Kyoto potter Takushi Haraguchi, glazed in his signature funsei (粉青) technique — a soft, powdery blue-green celadon-inspired glaze that has become his hallmark. The compact, well-balanced form is wrapped in a pale, luminous surface traced with fine, naturally spreading crackle (kannyu), while a warm brown tone at the rim and foot lends quiet definition to the piece. Signed on the base, it captures the same restrained elegance found in Haraguchi's larger works in miniature, perfect scale — a piece equally suited to display or use at the table. Comes with its original tomobako box and tomonuno wrapping cloth.
【Artist Profile】
Takushi Haraguchi (b.1947) was born in Kyoto. After graduating from the Faculty of Economics at Dokkyo University in 1970, he turned to ceramics, completing his training at the Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Training School in 1975. He was selected for the regional branch exhibition of the Japan Kogei Association in 1978 and for the Japan Traditional Kogei Exhibition in 1985. He has held numerous solo exhibitions across Japan, including in Tokyo (1979, 1981), Kyoto (1989), and Tachikawa (2009), as well as an exhibition in Washington, D.C., USA in 2003.
