Ancient Greece Mármol Anatolian head along with Spanish export license - 11 cm

This piece, a marble head attributed to the Kylia style, belongs to the Anatolian culture and dates from the 3rd millennium BC, a period that corresponds to the early stages of the Cycladic and early Helladic world. Kylia-type figures are characteristic of this region and era, depicting stylized and abstract forms, which connects them with the first manifestations of sculptural art in the Aegean and Asia Minor.

The simplicity of the form highlights the skill of prehistoric artists to abstract essential elements of the human figure, in this case, the head. The soft curves of the marble suggest an ovoid head with minimal features, where a central line subtly marks the facial separation, while small protuberances suggest ears. These figures could have had a ritual or symbolic meaning, representing gods, ancestors or cult elements.

Marble, an emblematic material in ancient Mediterranean sculpture, is worked with a technique that prioritises geometric shapes and polishing, highlighting the smooth texture and luminosity of the stone. Despite its age, the piece is in good condition, with a patina that shows its passage through the millennia, adding authenticity and a tangible link to the ancient cultures of Anatolia.

For other destinations out of European territory: all our items will be shipped after obtaining a definitive LICENSE EXPORTATION by the Ministry of Culture of Spain. We inform our clients that it may take between 4-8 weeks. According to Spanish legislation, items sent outside the European Union are subjected to export taxes. The taxes will be added to the invoice, at the buyer's expense. These export fees are fixed on the final auction price, and the tax rate is not applied directly to the total value of the item to be exported, but rather the different percentages by sections are applied to it:
Up to 6,000 euros: 5%. / From 6.001 to 60.000 euros: 10 %.
