The Canon FX (1964) was the first camera of Canon’s FL-mount SLR generation, a solid all-mechanical body with a built-in CdS exposure meter read from a window on the top plate. It is offered here with the later Canon FD 100-200mm f/5.6 S.C. telephoto zoom; FD lenses mount directly on FL bodies and are used with stop-down metering.

The zoom lens has fungus, haze and cleaning marks. The camera body works. Please review the photos and consider this before bidding.

Appearance
Scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details.

Optical Condition
Lens: FD 100-200mm f/5.6 S.C.: cleaning marks on the front element, and fungus with haze in the rear group. The front element has been disassembled and cleaned. See photos.

Functional
The shutter, film transport and the built-in CdS meter work. Measured: 1 s = 0.7 s, 1/60 = 1/50.
The light seals have been replaced.
FD lenses mount directly on the FL-mount FX body and are used with stop-down metering.

Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- 1 s — measured 1/0.7 s (approx. 0.5 stop slow)
- 1/60 — measured 1/50 s (approx. 0.3 stop slow)
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.

Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Light seals (foam) replaced
- Front element group disassembled and cleaned

Known Issues
1. The lens has fungus and haze in the rear group and cleaning marks on the front element; expect reduced contrast and flare against the light.
2. The 1-second speed runs a little fast (about 0.7 s).

We ship via either FedEx or Japan Post (ePacket), whichever suits the destination and the parcel. With Japan Post your package is handed over to the local postal carrier in your country for final delivery.
