Descripción del vendedor
A distinctive collection of three Peruvian ceramic vessels , featuring anthropomorphic and zoomorphic designs. The group showcases a variety of sculptural forms, earthy colours and textured surfaces.
The lot includes:
1. Zoomorphic vessel — A small rounded vessel with a short flared neck, integrated handle and sculptural animal-head spout. The surface displays reddish-brown and earthen tones, mineral deposits and extensive wear.
Dimensions: approx. 9.5 × 9.5 × 7 cm. Weight: 188.6 g.
2. Anthropomorphic head vessel — A striking dark grey-black ceramic vessel modelled as a human head, with closed eyes, a prominent nose, defined lips and a tall cylindrical headdress. Incised and impressed decorative motifs adorn the sides and upper section.
Dimensions: approx. 19 × 11 × 8 cm. Weight: 290.8 g.
3. Small ceramic vessel — A rounded vessel with a short neck and reddish-brown surface, showing an aged, weathered appearance and visible surface patina.
Dimensions: approx. 10 cm high × 11 cm diameter. Weight: approx. 330 g.
Condition: All three pieces show significant signs of wear, including abrasions, surface losses, mineral deposits and damage to the rims. The first vessel has old structural cracks, and the third has a loss to the rim. No restoration is reported. Green wire around the necks of the first two vessels appears to be a later addition.
Total weight: approx. 809.4 g.
A visually varied group for collectors of Peruvian ceramics, anthropomorphic art and archaeological-style objects. The pieces are sold together as one lot, exactly as shown in the photographs.
