Descripción del vendedor

This lovely old vase was designed by Charles Graffart in 1958 and made by Val Saint Lambert in Belgium. The prominent diamond and swags pattern in a rich cobalt blue, provides a sparkling contrast against the crystal clear background. The base consists of 24 magnificently carved columns edged with cobalt blue, forming a sturdy foot to the vase. The vase is blown with clear crystal, after which a layer of cobalt blue crystal is applied, which is then ground back to create the final design. This doubled crystal process was perfected by Val Saint Lambert and used extensively. Crystal from this famous factory has a high lead content of 33 - 40%, much higher than the legally required 24%. This extra lead content gives the product extra brilliance and clarity.

The model LUBO is illustrated in the book Val Saint Lambert 'Cristallerie Catalogue 1951-1975" on page 61. Model number C.G. 945 (Charles Graffart). The vase stands 21 cm. high. Diameter at the top is 16,5 .cm. and the foot is 11.0 cm.
Condition is near MINT with only slight scratching on the base due to movement.

Charles Graffart was a Master Craftsman in his trade. This elegant hand-made vintage vase is a masterpiece from his hand. The vase is signed on the base "Val St. Lambert" and carries an original factory sticker on the front.
A RARE FIND INDEED! A quality item for a glass or crystal collection.
