Exclusive special bottling of the coveted Big Peat for Germany only!
Limited to just 564 bottles, the noble Islay Blended Malt Whisky matured mainly in French red wine barrels.
The special barrel maturation ensures a pleasant fruitiness with intense notes of ripe cherries and strong dark chocolate - all accompanied by an intense peat smoke. This edition is without paper tube.

Aroma: initially soft peat smoke, then increasingly intense fruity aromas of dark cherries and berries, light malt aromas in the background, plus soft fudge and a hint of vanilla
Taste: noticeably fruitier in taste - again the ripe cherries, with notes of dark chocolate and cocoa beans, spicier tones behind them, tobacco leaves can also be recognized - over all there is a rich, soft peat smoke
Finish: long, soft finish - fruit and peat in elegant balance - spicy hints of old leather in the background

Big Peat The Thropaigeach Edition - Rum Cask Finish - Fèis Ìle 2024, 48%, 700ml

Big Peat The Thropaigeach Edition is a special release for Fèis Ìle 2024, carefully curated by Douglas Laing. This blended malt Scotch whisky combines a selection of Islay malts, each of which has been refined after maturation in a rum cask, imparting unique flavors. This limited-edition whisky stands out for its smoky profile, typical of whiskies from the Islay region. The rum cask finish adds a sweet and spicy dimension that beautifully complements the intense peat aroma, creating a deep, complex character.

Aroma: peated barley and smoke give way to a warming, spicy style plus toasted marshmallows.
Taste: oily and thick with a distinctly Islay character alongside flambéed banana, barbecued meat and honeyed malt.
Finish: coal dust lingers with a charred pineapple and allspice sweetness.
