Art Deco Glass Vase in Black with Ivory Geometric Enamel – Bohemian Style, c. 1930s–1950s This stunning Art Deco vase embodies the glamour and precision of early 20th-century design. Crafted in blown glass with a glossy black ground and overlaid by an ivory-toned geometric pattern, it likely originates from Bohemia (Czechoslovakia), a historic hub of decorative glass artistry. The conical cylindrical form is wrapped in an intricate symmetrical motif featuring stylized fan shapes, vertical rays, and abstract floral sprigs – a timeless example of Deco ornamentation. Its palette and pattern echo the luxurious aesthetics of French Art Deco while showcasing the craftsmanship typical of Czech glassmakers like Karl Palda. Dimensions: * Height: approx. 20 cm * Rim diameter: approx. 11 cm Material: Blown glass with enamel decoration Color palette: Glossy black exterior, white/ivory enamel detailing, pale interior Condition: Very good vintage condition overall. The enamel is vivid and well-preserved, and the surface is glossy with only minimal signs of wear. Important to note: there is a discreet internal flaw visible at the base — likely a historical stress line or old fracture. It forms a fine vertical line visible on one side only upon close inspection and does not impact stability or water-tightness (the vase holds water and is structurally sound). This flaw is only visible when looking directly at the bottom or in raking light. (See last photo for the bottom, and the photo before the last, for a close-up on the side, where, when looking closely, you can notice the line) Attribution: While unsigned, this piece reflects mid-century Bohemian production, with stylistic parallels to the Nový Bor region and studios like Karl Palda. Provenance: From a private collection of 20th-century European decorative arts. Shipping: Secure shipping with full insurance and careful packaging. International buyers please note: any customs duties or import taxes are the responsibility of the buyer. Please review the photos carefully for an accurate impression of the object and its condition. This is a private sale between private individuals in accordance with law, no returns or warranties.
