A Carved Cinnabar Lacquer Wall Vase, Qing Dynasty Of baluster form rising to a flared neck, deeply carved through layers of red lacquer with a continuous landscape scene depicting scholars seated at a table in a garden pavilion, attended by a young attendant. The neck and shoulders are decorated with dense floral scrolls. The vase is mounted on a later wooden stand. Condition report: The vase shows severe damage and requires restoration. Notably, there are significant breaks and losses to the section below the neck (see images for details).
