The composition skillfully blends scenes of daily life during the Edo period (the term "Tōto" (東都) refers to Edo at that time, now modern-day Tokyo) with the landscape of Mount Fuji: In the foreground, various figures—including peddlers, vendors, and samurai—either hurry on their way or go about their work, their vivid forms fully embodying the vigorous vitality of urban life. Elements such as trees and houses are depicted with meticulous detail, and the harmonious and elegant color matching creates a rich atmosphere of mundane human life. In the distance, Mount Fuji stands towering and majestic, appearing even more grand and magnificent against the backdrop of the sky. As a hallowed master in the field of ukiyo-e, Katsushika Hokusai had a uniquely distinctive creative style, which exerted an extremely profound influence on the development of later art. The protective paper of this woodblock print features a Japanese description that provides explanations and introductions to the print. Due to the passage of time, the paper shows slight signs of oxidation and yellowing, but the overall condition remains good. - The picture is part of the description. The color of the item may be slightly different from the picture (due to camera and screen settings). - The successful bidder will be responsible for any customs duties and taxes (if applicable). - This item will be mailed by the postal service of Taiwan in the form of airmail with insurance attached.
