This vase is an Arita ware vase made by Fukagawa Pottery, a purveyor to the Imperial Household Agency. The author is Hidemine 秀峰. Arita ware is the general term for ceramics produced in Arita Town, Saga Prefecture. As it was the first place in Japan to produce porcelain, it is considered the origin of Japan's porcelain industry.
