Rare art figurine titled “Pied Piper”, designed by the famous artist Karl Tutter in 1920 for Lorenz Hutschereuther Selb Bavaria Art Department, in excellent condition. 
Magnificent representation of the Pied Piper of Hamelin (Rattenfänger von Hammeln), title character of a legend from the town of Hamelin dating back to middle ages. The earliest references describe a piper, dressed in multicoloured clothing, who was a rat catcher hired by the town to lure rats away with his magic pipe. Karl Tutter (1883 - 1969) was one of the most famous Austrian-German creators of porcelain sculptures of the twentieth century. In the 1920s, he began working at the Lorenz Hutchenreuther factory. This was the beginning of the artistic collaboration of Karl Tutter and Carl Werner, who over the four decades of their joint work, created many workshops in their plasticity and clarity of the shape of the figures. It is in excellent condition more to pristine, beautifully sculpted and glazed, marked underside with Lorenz Hutschenreuter Selb Bavaria L.H.S. mark of the period, impressed artist name K. Tutter, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
