Kimono formal, kurotomesode, abanico, flor auspiciosa. - Seda - Japón - Periodo Shōwa (1926-1989)

This is a luxurious kurotomesode kimono. This black tomesode features an elegant and luxurious design, richly decorated with large fan motifs along the hem. Each fan is beautifully detailed with auspicious patterns such as white peonies, plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, and wisteria—symbols of beauty, celebration, and good fortune in Japanese tradition. The background incorporates gold accents, geometric patterns, and flowing stream designs, creating a dynamic composition that highlights the fan motifs. The contrast between the deep black silk and the vibrant gold and colored patterns gives the kimono a refined and graceful appearance. This tomesode is perfectly suited for weddings and formal ceremonies, offering the elegance and sophistication expected of Japan’s highest-class traditional attire. White circle on black background This kimono features five crests—on the back, both chest areas, and both sleeves—indicating the highest level of formality in traditional Japanese attire. The crest is called “Ishimochi-jinuki,” a simple white circle on a black background. Originally used as a base for a family emblem, it contains no specific family symbol, making it a neutral crest that anyone can wear regardless of family lineage. Because it maintains full formality while remaining universally wearable, this type of crest is commonly used on formal kimonos such as black tomesode. Condition: As can be seen in the photos, there is some discoloration at the bottom of the white interior of the kimono, but otherwise it is in good condition. Size: Height (from shoulder): 165 cm Sleeve length: 47 cm (seam allowance: 3.5 cm) Shoulder width: 66 cm Sleeve width: 34 cm Weight:Approximately 1.8 kg [About Shipping] This item will be shipped from Japan.
