NWA 17611 Diogenite Breccia Beautiful Diogenite displaying brecciated clasts set in a light gray matrix, with some metal present. These samples exhibit a brecciated texture composed of abundant large Plagioclase Anorthosite and Orthopyroxene grains set in a matrix of smaller orthopyroxene and silica polymorph grains. Chromite grains up to 2mm and troilite are also present, as well as FeNi grains. The abundant Plagioclase grains make these samples look similar to Lunar breccias. All slices and end cuts are polished on one side. We purchased this group of stones from the finder in Northwest Africa in 2024 and subsequently had them classified as NWA 17611. Type: Diogenite Breccia. Weight: 6.5 grams Fall/Find Date: Found in Northwest Africa in 2024 Total Known Weight: 1,008 grams A McKinley Collection Classification. All meteorites are guaranteed authentic and include a COA as well as historical specimen / collection cards if available.
