The Viña Tondonia Tinto Reserva 2008 wine is produced by the venerable Bodegas López de Heredia under the Viña Tondonia brand, one of the most traditional wineries in the Rioja Alta DOCa (Rioja region, Spain).
The Viña Tondonia vineyards cover approximately 150 hectares and are located on the right bank of the Ebro River, at altitudes between 438 and 489 meters.
The vines are over 50 years old, the soil is varied (alluvial, clay-limestone with gravel and pebbles), and the area's climate has an Atlantic influence.
The 2008 vintage was officially rated as "very good."
The 2008 Reserva is aged for 6 years in American oak barrels, with two rackings per year.
After barrel aging, the wine is bottled after clarification with egg whites, without filtration.
Always in a private cellar with controlled temperature.
