Antique vergy Fusee Pocket Watch – Alexr. Gray, Aberdeen – Silver Case – ca. 1850s – Working A beautifully preserved Scottish fusee pocket watch signed “Alexr. Gray, Aberdeen” with movement number 99739. This is a traditional English-style key-wind and key-set timepiece housed in a solid silver case with clear hallmarks and an elegant enamel dial. A fine collector’s example of mid-19th-century horology. Movement Classic fusee chain-driven movement, known for its stable power delivery. Signed “Alexr. Gray – Aberdeen”. Beautifully engraved balance cock with intricate floral engine turning. Blued screws, jewelled balance, and a regulator marked Fast / Slow. Movement appears clean and intact; it runs, though accuracy for a 19th-century mechanism may vary. Complete with its original winding key. Case Solid silver case with British hallmarks (lion passant, city mark, and date letter visible). Inner cover also hallmarked and stamped with case maker's initials. Hinges open and close well. Diameter:54mm with outside caee Weight:143g Classical polished finish with normal age-related wear. Dial White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial. Original hands, including the elegant spade hour hand. Some hairline cracks and aging visible, typical for a watch of this era. Condition Working, winds and ticks. Not serviced recently; a general check-up may be recommended for optimal timekeeping. Silver case and bow in good antique condition with honest wear. Fusee chain intact.
