The plaque is cast in solid bronze, finished by hand, and shows a beautiful, naturally aged dark patina. The portrait is rendered in high relief with excellent detail: flowing beard, stylized hair, strong facial profile, and a laurel wreath. The reverse is concave, with visible tool marks and casting surfaces typical of hand-made 19th-century studio plaques.
