Natsume - Lujoso maki-e dorado adornado con un elaborado escudo de crisantemo de dieciséis pétalos. - Madera, laca - Templo Kōtō-ji, ventisca

Good condition. Description: This is a beautifully crafted Japanese lacquer tea caddy (棗 / natsume) decorated in luxurious gold maki-e, presented with its original wooden tomobako box. The piece has an elegant cylindrical form finished in deep black lacquer, creating a dramatic contrast with the warm gold decoration that wraps around the body. The lid is adorned with an elaborate sixteen-petal chrysanthemum crest (菊花紋), rendered with precision and surrounded by a shimmering band of dense nashiji (梨地) gold powder. This combination of chrysanthemum and nashiji gives the lid a radiant, almost ceremonial presence. Around the sides, repeating Gosan-no-Kiri (五三桐) paulownia crests appear in rich gold maki-e, a motif historically associated with imperial and governmental emblems, adding formality and prestige to the piece. Opening the caddy reveals an interior finished entirely in a lustrous, speckled nashiji lacquer, whose fine gradations of gold and bronze tones reflect light softly. The continuous nashiji work inside both the body and the lid shows a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Together, the chrysanthemum crest, the paulownia motifs, and the refined interior create a sense of elegance and authority, making this natsume suitable not only for tea ceremony use but also as a collectible example of traditional Japanese maki-e artistry. The accompanying wooden box underscores its quality and suggests that it was cared for as a valued piece. NOTICE

The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post depends on the situation.
It takes about 3~4 weeks to receive normally. Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.

Sometimes Customes or delivery company in your country contact you for Customs clearance via phone or email. Please make sure that you could answer the phone. If you don't, the parcel will return to me and it cost more double shipping fee for reshipping.
