Kokyo Shokai (K) - Matador Rocket Launcher with original box - Japan 1950´s
Great piece of toy a Matador Rocket Launcher produced by Kokyu Shokai (identified by a "K in a flower" logo). I wish I had that when I was a kid :). And hard to find in a complete version with rocket and original box.
It depicts a truck carrying a Martin Matador Rocket and are based on the real Martin TM-61 Matador, which was the US Air Force's first operational surface-to-surface cruise missile.
The toy is consisting of the cab and separate rocket launching platform with launching mechanism and a raising and lowering mechanism operated by a shift on one side of truck. The button on the launcher arm has been exposed to some heat. The launcher works well and can shoot the rocket several meters.
It comes with a separate 2 piece Martin Matador Rocket measuring 16 cm long.
The truck has friction-driven motor and are excellent working. The truck and the original box is in a very good condition.
Marked with: Kokyo Shokai's trademark on rocket launcher and rocket and with "Made in japan" and "Japan" underneath the truck.
See photos for the general condition of the toy. They are a part of the description.
