His robe is draped over one shoulder and adorned with a long beaded necklace, and he wears a tall headdress with geometric decoration on the back. The serene yet expressive face, elongated features, and gentle smile reflect traditional Chinese representations of immortals and hermits who embody wisdom and spiritual transcendence. The sculpture was cast in bronze using the lost-wax technique, resulting in subtle modelling and natural folds in the robe. The surface bears an aged dark patina with traces of green oxidation and earthen deposits consistent with age. This figure may depict one of the Eight Immortals (possibly Li Tieguai, known for carrying a staff) or an arhat (Lohan) from Buddhist tradition, reflecting the blend of Daoist and Buddhist iconography prevalent in late imperial China. Traces of oxidation, surface wear, and soil adhesion can be observed, but the piece remains structurally sound and visually compelling. Estimated period: Late 19th to early 20th century (Late Qing to Republic period). Condition: Good antique condition with patina, some oxidation, and wear consistent with age. Dimensions: approx. H 18.5 cm W 9 cm D 7.7 cm ・Please make sure to review all the provided information and images before placing your bid. ・We make every effort to accurately represent the product's colors and textures in our photos.
