Wall sconce in the shape of a reclining woman made by my grandfather who was a blacksmith in Piran, Slovenia from 1950s to 1990s. He avoided welding the iron so most of his works are made entirely by hand techniques (forging, cuting, chiseling ...). The hair of the woman for instance is cut soley with the help of a blacksmith's chisel.
He drew much of his inspiration from the sea, incorporating marine motifs like sea animals, mermaides etc. All his work reflects the coastal spirit of the small port town of Piran.
The item carries my grandfathers original stamp.
