Les Béguines was the very first Champagne ever produced by the vigneron Jérôme Prévost, one of the most skilled interpreters of Pinot Meunier, sourced from vineyards located in Gueux, at the foothills of the Montagne de Reims. Rather than following the traditional Champagne model of blending different grapes, vintages, and vineyards to create a “standardized” product, Jérôme and his fellow “Champagne Renegades” craft terroir-driven bottlings, primarily focused on a single grape variety and a single vintage.
