Cimmerian Bosporos – Pantikapaion Circa 310–304 BC AE (Orichalcum) – Pantikapaion mint (modern-day Kerch, Crimea) An attractive bronze issue from Pantikapaion, the principal city of the Cimmerian Bosporos and an important Greek trading hub on the Black Sea. The obverse features a bearded head of a satyr facing right, a distinctive and expressive design associated with Dionysian imagery. The reverse shows the forepart of a griffin to the left, with a sturgeon below — a unique combination reflecting both mythological symbolism and the economic importance of fishing and trade in the region.
