Originally may have been attached to the top of a wooden sepulchral tablet or shrine, or perhaps the corners of a wooden outer box enclosing the coffin. The face, which represents that of the deceased, is a dark yellow with facial details in black and red. The deep-cut body has nicely decorated wings with black and red roundels and vertical lines and dots in blue and red on a yellow background simulating feathers.
