The item up for auction is an antique lid from a G.&W. Heller candy box from Vienna, which was used to store “Cream Caramels.” G.&W. Heller was founded in Vienna in 1891 by Gustav Heller and his brother Wilhelm—the company specialized in producing special candies known as “Seidenzuckerl.” This packaging is a great rarity due to the material used (paper); very few items of this type have survived.
