Incredibly rare Demian Guitar, acoustic guitar made in Japan in the early '60s. Here's what I found about Demian: "Demian was a Japanese stringed instrument brand owned and made by the FujiGen company of Matsumoto, Nagano. Demian was introduced in the early 1960s by FujiGen president Mr Mimura, who was inspired to choose the brand name by Hermann Hesse's novel "Demian". The first Demian products were classical guitars but the range expanded to include electric guitars, basses and banjos. The Demian brand was discontinued by Fujigen around 1965." Please note that there is very little information on these mysterious guitar, so there may be inaccuracies in the description. While Demian electric guitars are slightly more common, I have never seen a Demian acoustic/classical guitar so this is a unique opportunity to own one. I believe these guitars were made to handle both (very light) steel strings or nylon strings (like Yamaha's Dynamic Guitars), however I liked more how it sounds with steel strings so currently it has 0.09 steel strings on. Some frets are dead after the 12th fret, however this is not the kind of guitar you'd choose for soloing past the 12th fret, so that shouldn't be a problem. Please check the photos and the videos carefully, they are the best way to understand the guitar's condition & sound. This guitar is probably around 60 years old, so adjust your expectations accordingly. It has scratches, blemishes and imperfections. It will feel different compared to a new instrument. It is playable but it has not been professionally setup, so there may be things that can be done to improve its playability. I'd suggest it to people who have some experience with vintage guitars and are willing to make adjustments down the line, or who can embrace the imperfections in exchange for a special sound and vibe.
