We are offering a truly unique, rare, signed 19th-century Venetian Murano mirror and console table from our private family collection. This is not merely an antique furniture piece; it is a profound historical relic carrying a documented, dramatic story from the heart of European history.

This masterpiece, handcrafted from Murano glass with intricate, hand-cut engravings, was a wedding gift in 1942 to my maternal grandparents, Dr. Károly Pataky (Ministerial Legal Advisor) and Lady Rózsa Vörösmarty. The gift was bestowed by Monsignor Arnold Pataky, Papal Prelate, who officiated their wedding Mass at the iconic Matthias Church in the Buda Castle.

Throughout the communist era, the family hid and protected the mirror in the countryside, dismantling the upper and side ornaments to prevent theft or destruction. Now, as its storage has become uncertain, we are looking for a new, worthy place where it can reign as a royal centerpiece.

Main Mirror Body: The upper mirror part is in perfect condition. The original rear pine wood backing and the foxing (silvering) are excellent. The hand-engraved decorations are flawless.

Console Table: It bears the historic puskatus (rifle butt) impact marks. The right corner is broken/damaged. The side glass cladding is broken but complete. The wooden structure is solid, and the cut motifs and silvering are excellent here too.

Dismantled Ornaments: The upper and side crown and arch decorations are damaged and have silvering issues, but they are complete and available, ready for restoration.
