This rattle sculpture from the Maniema region of Luba belongs to the rich tradition of figurative prestige and ritual objects for which Luba art is internationally renowned. Within Luba cosmology, sculptures functioned not only as aesthetic works but also as vehicles of memory, authority, and spiritual power.
