Lot composed of 2 silver drachms minted in the city of Dyrrhachium (modern Durrës, Albania) in the time of the Roman protectorate (229 – 30 BC). 1. ILLYRIA, Dyrrhachium AR silver drachm. 250-200 BC, Meniskos magistrate, MENIΣKOΣ, Cow standing right with suckling calf; Weight - 2.64g. Obverse well centerd, very good condition, almost uncirculated, with a few small areas of corrosion. 2. ILLYRIA, DYRRHACHIUM AR silver drachm. 200-37 BC, Philotas magistrate, ΦΙΛΩΤΑΣ. Cow standing to right, looking back and suckling calf standing to left beneath her; to left, club; to right, grain ear; in exergue, grape bunch. Weight - 2.97g. This type is considered scarce. Obverse nicely centered, in very good condition, barely noticeable circulation wear, with golden tone patinated surface.
