With its 11-year-old Lagavulin, the legendary Islay distillery created a single malt matured entirely in first-fill ex-bourbon casks made of American oak. Master Blender Dr. Stuart Morrison focused on the combination of sweetness and smoke, which are generally considered opposites. An elegant sweetness shimmers through the wonderfully dense peat smoke and blends with hints of salted caramel and toffee apples. The main difference to the successful Lagavulin 16 and Lagavulin 8-vuotias viskeihin lies firstly in the 11-vuotiaan Lagavulinin 100% bourbon-astiakaappimaku, and secondly in the Sweet Peat's more pronounced malty notes and charming undertones of sweetness and oak. In this case, opposites truly attract. The Islay whisky is bottled at 43% ABV.
