Very rare to find primitively carved Dogon statue. This figure was placed on a family altar inside a traditional "Binnu"-house, where the sacred objects of a Dogon household were guarded. Very coarse representation of a anthropomorphic figure, carved in wood. Due to its old age the wood has dried up completely, giving it are very hard surface. Collected in the village of Tirilli in the late 1990,s and coming from a private Dutch collection.
