The exterior is delicately decorated with three playful boys alternating with three horses amongst flowering plants, all painted in vibrant overglaze enamels of iron-red, yellow, green, blue, and black. The rim is highlighted with a fine gilt border, while a scrolling ruyi band decorates the foot. The interior is centred with a charming scene of a young boy playing with a horse, echoing the exterior decoration and creating a balanced and harmonious composition. The lively figures and confident brushwork are characteristic of traditional Chinese wucai decoration.
