A gorgeous Famille rose hand-painted plate of vibrant butterflies and scattered botanical floral sprays. For me it is one of those things that brings joy just looking at it. Butterflies traditionally represent longevity, romance and joy in Chinese culture. It features a delicate foliated / scalloped rim with a thin gilt border. The colour pallette is classic Famille Rose enamels including pinks, greens, yellows, and iron-red tones against a bright white ground. It is in a very good antique condition given its age.
