ELTEX 2000-NC, an early electronic pocket calculator dating from approximately 1975. It features an 8-digit VFD display, 19 keys and algebraic logic, characteristic of the first generation of electronic pocket calculators. The calculator is in excellent vintage condition and has been fully tested. It operates correctly with four rechargeable batteries and also works correctly from the original ELTEX Universal mains adapter/charger. The keys have a particularly satisfying tactile action, typical of calculators from this period. The calculator is accompanied by its original ELTEX 2000-NC box, original instruction/reference sheets, the original ELTEX Universal mains adapter/charger and its original box. The complete original presentation makes this an especially interesting example for collectors of early electronic calculators. The rear label states “Made in Singapore” and identifies ELTEX Electronic, D-755 Rastatt, Germany. The calculator was therefore manufactured in Singapore for the German ELTEX Electronic company. The 8-digit VFD display is fully functional and clearly readable. Some age-related residue is visible on the outside of the display cover, as shown in the photographs, but this does not affect the operation or readability of the display. The calculator measures approximately 147 × 80 × 26 mm and weighs 157 g. The calculator itself is exceptionally well preserved for its age, while the original boxes show visible storage and age-related wear. A well-preserved and unusually complete example of an early ELTEX electronic pocket calculator, offered together with its original packaging, documentation and dedicated power supply.
