Rum Benefited from almost twenty years of maturation in Scotland, an unusually long ageing period for a Demerara rum and one of the defining characteristics of this release. The Scottish maturation contributes a distinctive character, combining the richness and exotic complexity of Demerara rum with elegant, whisky-like nuances.
On the nose, it is described as elegant, vibrant and balsamic, with notes of vanilla, tropical fruit, lavender and delicate powdery nuances. On the palate, the profile develops towards cocoa, dried fruit and warm, mature woody notes, with a long and distinctive finish.
The bottle represents an interesting meeting point between Guyana’s historic rum tradition, Scottish maturation and Samaroli’s Italian approach to independent bottling.
