This captivating work depicts the mythological figure of Eros, the god of love, floating majestically as he tautens his bow. The figure of Eros is meticulously crafted, with an intricate pattern of blue flowers on a white porcelain base, evoking the aesthetics of fine ceramics. However, the surface is not intact; cracks and broken fragments are joined by subtle yet visible gold lines, a technique reminiscent of the ancient Japanese art of kintsugi. This artistic choice transforms imperfections into radiant scars, highlighting the beauty of fragility and the process of repair. Birds with similar patterns and the golden stars floating around him add a layer of visual poetry, suggesting a wounded yet restored cosmos by love, and reinforcing the kintsugi notion that breakage and repair are inherent and beautiful parts of an object's history.
